In my last post I wrote about the importance of having clarity of purpose in order to be effective. You just can’t make progress on any meaningful task or project without staying focused. Trying to do everything is the recipe for failure and frustration. In his book “The One Thing,” Gary Keller (of Keller-Williams fame) makes a strong case for picking one thing to focus on – and staying with it – until it’s accomplished. This kind of concentration of effort always leads to high-level performance and productivity.
Here’s a good question to ask yourself right now: “What’s the one thing I can do today that will make the greatest contribution to my personal or professional success?” Answering that question, and following through on completing that specific task, will turbocharge your performance and productivity.” Give it a try.
